Here at Capilano University's Interactive Design program, students learn the most up to date code and mark-up skills that are used in the industry today.
- HTML
- CSS
- Javascript
- XML
- Action Script 3.0
- PHP
- SQL
These are the backbone code languages that are present in the Interactive Environment.
The internet is an ever evolving interactive playground. With new technologies and toys to interact with, we want to be right up there learning and playing.
Our courses and instructors are always flexing, evolving along with the industry. They keep up with the latest trends in social media, mobile applications and the latest web standards, to name a few.
The program also encourages students to flex their abilities with self-directed projects developed on platforms of their choice.
Producing a flourishing graduate is always our goal. The best way to achieve our goal is to help students achieve theirs, as developers, designers, information architects, user-experience professionals, or project managers.
We work with their skill sets and develop them to suit each student so they choose in what direction they would love to roll in the industry.
Designing a user interface and an engaging website full of graphics, animations and text is a challenge and department in itself.
To push our visual designs we incorporate skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash with skills in typography, grid, color theory, composition and branding.
If code and markup are the backbone and guts of a website, design is its skin and all the features you can see and touch.
